Privacy Policy — TrueNAS Backup

This policy covers the personal TrueNAS Backup integration operated by Oleg Kossoy.

Google Drive data and use

The integration accesses file and folder names, metadata, and file contents in the connected Google Drive account as needed to list, transfer, compare, update, and remove backup files. The requested Google Drive permission permits access to all files in that account. The configured backup job currently targets Backups/Applications; that configuration is not an OAuth restriction.

Access is used only to operate the owner’s backup and restoration workflow. Google Drive data is not sold, used for advertising, or used to train artificial intelligence models.

Storage and access

Backup files are stored in the owner’s Google Drive account and the source remains on the owner’s systems. Google processes the files as the Drive provider. Authorization tokens are stored in the TrueNAS cloud credential configuration; setup and troubleshooting may temporarily use tokens on the operator’s administration workstation. Administrators of these systems may access their configuration and logs.

Operational logs may contain file paths, transfer status, and error details. This public website does not receive backup file contents or Google authorization tokens. Its hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process visitor IP addresses and request metadata to deliver the pages. The pages include no application analytics or tracking scripts.

Retention and deletion

Backup contents are retained according to the configured sync and any applicable provider retention or trash behavior. Sync can delete destination files when the corresponding source files are removed. Local snapshots are separate from Google Drive backup retention. Disabling authorization does not itself delete existing backups.

Control and revocation

The owner can disable the TrueNAS backup task and remove its cloud credential. Google access can also be revoked through Google Account connections. Existing backup files can be managed or deleted directly in Google Drive. Revoking access prevents future authorized transfers after existing access expires; it does not erase files already stored.
